Our pink and purple garnets belong to the Rhodolite species. Rhodolite garnet is a mix between Pyrope and Almandine garnets and can range between pink, purple and violet. The name comes from Latin "rhodon", meaning rose. These stones are durable enough for everyday use and come in many warm colours. Rhodolite garnets are found in most of traditional gem mining regions including Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Thailand, among others. There is a variety of Rhodolite that shows a colour change from bluish green in daylight to purple red in incandescent light.
