Thai Gold 22in long chain, 15.2 gr of 23k gold.
Thai Gold is especially appealing as it contains almost pure gold- 965 parts of a 1000 are gold, the rest is silver. Unlike gold alloys used in the west, it has rich golden colour that makes it so attractive. Due to the low manufacturing costs it offers excellent value for the money and is traditionally used by Thai people as a store of value. When buying a chain please remember that every metal alloy posses a different hardness and thus accessories that are in direct contact with each other, like a chain and pendant should be made from the same alloy. In Thai jewellery pendants are usually hung by a chain clasp, which is especially designed for that purpose.

Gold is a chemical element with Au symbol, which comes from Latin aurum. Original meaning of which, translates as a glow of a sunrise. Gold is a soft, malleable and ductile metal with a bright yellow colour and a high lustre. Its density is 19.30 g·cm−3 and it is one of the least chemically reactive elements known. It is immune to oxidisation and most acids. Gold can be dissolved by aqua regia, a nitro-hydrochloric acid, alkaline solutions of cyanide and by mercury. It is insoluble in nitric acid, that dissolves silver and basic metals, that is a base of gold “acid test”.
A combination of an attractive look , rarity and chemical resistance is what made gold desirable for ornamental and jewellery purposes. Which in turn made it a perfect medium to store value. At present, the consumption of newly mined gold is about 50% into jewellery, 40% into investment and 10% into industrial uses.
